Sunflower honey does not belong in the same group as the excellent varieties of honey, but it is certainly a specialty among them.
It has a pale yellow or golden color, which darkens when the honey gets denser. When fully crystallized, however, it resembles fat and becomes covered with a white glucose crust.
Sunflower honey does not smell like honey at all. Some smell hay, others smell pollen, some even smell fried potatoes.
It is rich in glucose, which is important information for diabetics, so they should not eat too much of it. It improves the general condition, blood circulation, helps with heart diseases and strengthens the immune system.
